NHS of Richland County, “America’s First Rural NHS” was founded in 1983 and since that time, well over $20 million has be reinvested in our neighborhoods through NHS organized housing and community development programs which have helped the people and the economy of the greater Richland County area.  Our production has increased dramatically since the early years and we know we have helped at-least 1,000 households since NHS became operations 21 years ago as NR’s pioneer rural program!    NHS has become one of the larger non-profit new home builders in SW Wisconsin, with 29 new homes completed at an appraised value of well over   $3 million and substantial property tax revenues generated from all NHS programs and homes!  Team NHS’s Staff and Board continue to be dedicated to our “neighbors helping neighbors” mission and the broad-based community partnership that provides the foundation of our growing program success.  Seasoned partnerships with local government, businesses, professionals, residents, UW Extension, USDA—Rural Development, BOH, WHEDA, NR, State Farm Insurance, Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program, and many generous individual contributors provides the basis for a strong, growing and proactive affordable housing collaboration working in the public interest and the people of Richland County and Southwest Wisconsin.  We are at  your service.
